Summary
It is the year 319 AC, Three Hundred and Nineteen years after Aegon’s Conquest. The Iron Throne of Westeros is sat upon by King Rhaegar Targaryen, first of his name. The wounds caused by Roberts's Rebellion still linger as scars, and the unity of the realm is weak and fractured, and whispers plague the court. At this time the heir to the throne is Crown Prince Aegon Targaryen, his son by his first wife Queen Elia Martell. Rumours persist that King Rhaegar, motivated by old scrolls and ancient prophecies, intends to disown his eldest son, and instead crown his thirdborn. His son by his second wife, Queen Lyanna Stark, Prince Jaehaerys Targaryen. There are even more twisted whispers, allegations of sorcery against the King’s firstborn, the Princess Rhaenys. The House of the Dragon is one with a long and bloody history. They say that when a Targaryen is born, the gods flip a coin, and the world holds its breath to see which way it lands. On the side of greatness, or madness. On which sides the coins of King Rhaegar and his children have landed remains to be seen.
