Summary
“Fuck. You can feel him panicking in response to you panicking, can’t you?” Roy said, but Jason had no idea what he was talking about. “Wait here.” Roy ran out.
Jason watched him go and tried to bring his breathing under control, but each time he thought he’d managed, something else twinged to remind him what state his body was in. He had no idea how long Roy was gone, it could have been seconds, or minutes, but when he came back he wasn’t alone.
The smell of caramel popcorn and chocolate cut through everything else and Jason felt a tug in his chest that made him want to bury himself in the scent.
“Jay, I’m so sorry.”
He opened his eyes to find Dick sitting on the edge of the bed with Roy hovering behind him. Dick looked like Jason felt, his hair was all over the place and he looked like he hadn’t slept in days. He had a bandage over his mating gland that matched the one on Jason’s neck, and the sight of it was what finally made things start to fall into place.

Summary
Jason had felt off kilter for the past few days, more off kilter than normal that was. He couldn’t quite pinpoint why; there wasn’t the usual green haze that preceded a pit episode, none of his cases had been the kind that made his skin crawl, and the one time he’d spoken to Bruce hadn’t ended in a shouting match. If he didn’t know better, he’d say he was getting close to his heat, but he wasn’t due for another month and a half. His instincts seemed to be dialled to eleven and his nest just seemed… wrong.

Summary
