Alexei snorted from where he was sprawled across the corner couch, already drinking something out of a commemorative New Avengers mug. “I still don’t understand. We are Avengers now, yes? But she is… not qualified.”
John Walker, already half-settled in the armchair closest to the TV, lifted a brow as he reached for the tablet again. “I read her file. Barely anything in it. No missions. No ops. Just a name and that weird power classification.”
“Yeah, what is it—‘temporarily held by SHIELD, but not trained’? What does that even mean, how does that even happen?” Yelena frowned, arms akimbo, head tilting as she scanned the room like this new girl might materialize from the shadows. “Who is she? Why her?”
“Bucky requested her,” John said simply, not looking up from the file. “That’s the only reason she’s here.”
And then the elevator dinged. All heads turned.
