Summary
The say that death is only the beginning.
Hanako would be enjoying this second go round a lot more if it didn't mean putting up with a noh-faced sass master living next door to her, but it's not all that bad. As her mother's best friend, Shiori is a quiet, steady presence throughout their shared childhood. As Hanako adapts, she begins to notice a fundamental flaw in Shuuichi's relationship with his mother, something neither of them seem willing to address.
She thinks she's doing okay, right up to the point where Botan reminds her that Hanako exchanged her second chance for a promise to aid Yusuke however she could. With responsibilities pressing in on her from every side, it's only a matter of time until she snaps.

<3 Okay so this was the sort of slow burn I love to devour all in one sitting, staying up past dawn and into the next day. The characters are incredibly and respectfully well handled, while still following major plot beats.
AND THE SASS. I love me some sassy Tony okay but Bucky just blows him way out of the water. Sassy Stark-Bucky is my new OTP!!

He’s standing in the kitchen with his husband; It’s one of their rare nights off together, and Shota would like to spend it appreciating Hizashi’s presence, not figuring out who’s mistakenly texted him what is, honestly, a really shitty pick up line.
“Sho? Are you listening to me?” Hizashi asks, turning from the fish on the range in front of him, and groans when he sees his husband staring intently at his phone.
“No,” he says honestly.
“Don’t tell me that’s work!”
“I hope not,” Shota says dryly, handing the other man his phone.
Hizashi reads the message, looks at Shota, then back at the phone, then at Shota again.
“Wrong number?” he suggests.

Honestly did not know how much I needed this. It's a really fascinating and glorious slow burn take on a relationship dynamic I haven't seen in a lot of other fics, but I am OBSSESSED. I was cackling little a little goblin half the time, or doing a Nemuri and squealing with delight. Gorgeously well written; the bite of the anticipation is just as satisfying as the climax (hehehe.) I truly adore slow burns that all but edge the reader and by the gods above does this fic deliver on that and more some! -
