Miu, in turn, is flushed, expression twisted in a scowl as she winds up to yell at Kokichi about something or other—but then her eyes catch on Kiibo and she breaks into a grin instead.
“Oi, Kiibo! There you are. You can go take a seat, we’ll get started once I get this asshat out of here.”
“Asshat is a mean word to use for the love of your life,” Kokichi sniffs. He gets a glower and a flick to the forehead for his trouble, and after letting out an ear-splitting wail, beams all toothy and bounds to Kiibo’s side. Kiibo slows to allow Kokichi to catch him, lets his arm be pulled against Kokichi’s chest with an eye roll and an indulgent sigh. “You know, the truth is, Kiiboy? Iruma-chan was just confessing her love for me. Yup. I rejected her, of course, but I did so with dignity. I’m a kind soul.”
“Wow. How considerate of you,” Kiibo deadpans.

Summary
Privately, Himiko doesn’t mind the company so much, doesn’t mind getting to banter with Kokichi or the light brushes of his arm against hers—but telling him that is about the equivalent of a dog rolling over to expose the soft underside of its belly, and Himiko just doesn’t think they’re there yet. It’s not happening. Kokichi would be far too smug about it. She’s keeping it to herself.
Besides, Himiko is sure that he already knows, on some level.
“You know you didn’t answer my question,” Kokichi points out, nudging Himiko’s arm. “You know what day it is?”
Himiko lets out an aggrieved sigh. “Wednesday?”
“Wow, you’re dull. Is that really all you’ve got? The day of the week? You know, according to all the books and clichés and stuff, ugly girls are at least supposed to be smart, couldn’t you—”
Himiko grabs Kokichi by the cheek and stretches. “If you don’t quit it I really will call Chabashira on you.”

Kokichi tracks Himiko down on Valentine's Day to do his usual job of irritating the shit out of her. Just this once, though, Himiko has her own tricks up her sleeve.

Summary
It’s a bit chilly in the house due to the storm outside, however, and Kokichi is dressed in his thin sleeping clothes, so he decides he’s had enough of looking and leaps into bed, clambering over onto both of their laps and wriggling his way in between them. Miu lets out a squawk of protest, knocked flat on her back, and Kiibo grunts in turn, fumbling with his book as one of his hands comes up to steady Kokichi against him.
“Would you mind giving us some warning?” Kiibo complains. He doesn’t even bother to say next time, and Kokichi muffles a snicker against Kiibo’s shoulder. He doesn’t technically need clothes, but Kiibo has taken to swearing sweatshirts around the house, especially while they sleep. The one he’s wearing now smells of laundry detergent and petrichor and is blissfully soft against Kokichi’s nose.
“I would mind, as a matter of fact!”
Miu makes her dissatisfaction clear as she readjusts beneath Kokichi, shifting so she can wrap her head around his shoulder and peer at the both of them.

Kokichi rocks on his feet, preening despite Miu’s jab. “Are you done yet?”
“Do I look done?” Miu asks, gesturing around her with the wrench in her hand. “I swear to god, if that’s all you wanted to ask—”
“Because we were supposed to start getting ready for our date like threeeeee hours ago.” Kokichi folds his arms and pouts, and Miu blinks. It takes her a moment to remember—she’s a bit tired—but after a moment it does occur to her that they’d planned a date for today. It’d even been on her mind this morning as she was setting out to take care of the bed, but she hadn’t thought it would take that long.
“Shit, seriously? My bad, I can—”
“Three hours is an exaggeration,” Kiibo interjects, sticking his head in from the hallway.

Summary
“Bad morning?” Kokichi guesses. He’s always been perceptive, but he has the added advantage of having been Kiibo’s roommate for the past three years, so Kiibo isn’t surprised that he’s able to tell.
Still, Kiibo shakes his head and rolls onto his back. “Not necessarily… I actually had a rather peaceful wakeup, though I am a bit achy this morning. I apologise if that means I won’t be able to do anything today…”
“Eh.” Kokichi flops across Kiibo’s bed as if it’s his own, stretching out a bit. Juhyo props her head between his knees, ears flattening now that he’s no longer giving her attention. Kiibo scoots closer to scratch her cheeks. “It’s okay, ‘cause I actually just finished taking over the South Pole before you woke up, so I’m totally free of plans for the rest of the day. Maybe I’ll show you more Minecraft!”

Kiibo suffers from phantom aches all over his body as a result of his death in the simulation. Some days, it's hard for him to even get out of bed, but he and Kokichi still find ways to entertain themselves.

Summary
Within the simulation, Kiibo existed independently of his creator. Sure, he was made for a reason, and he viewed Professor Iidabashi as a father—but ultimately, he was his own person. An individual growing and learning just as everyone else was.
At least, that was his perspective on it. It turned out in the end that Kiibo was just as much of a tool as Kokichi had always accused him of being, merely a puppet for the audience to feel involved in their suffering, and even his final act of defiance—leaving Shuichi, Himiko, and Maki alive—was written off as the will of the outside world.
And after leaving the simulation, after waking up to the real world and spending four full months healing and trying to move on from what happened alongside his friends, Kiibo discovers another truth: he was never his own person to begin with. In this world, he was created for the sole purpose of being in the killing game as an audience surrogate. Without killing games, without Danganronpa, Kiibo lacks a reason to live… but despite having no further use for him, Team Danganronpa still refuses to let him go.
