Then, Kairi rolled off of Iyo’s chest, and watched her eyes flicker. If someone tried to set Iyo’s bedroom on fire, Kairi would become water. If Iyo suffocated in her sleep, Kairi would become oxygen. Kairi could become anything, most of herself to none of herself, if Iyo Shirai asked.
That was the only thing Kairi could say that she knew would always be some part of herself.
It was not long after that Iyo, making good on her promise, would try to defend Kairi. That Kairi would find herself leaving the arena they knew, Iyo following close behind. And that, after everything they had created, Kairi would finally meet Asuka.
