Summary
He doesn’t mention it to them.
When they ask if he feels any side effects, he doesn’t say how the world was too bright, how everything was too loud.
He doesn’t mention he can feel how they don't seem to really trust him, just waiting for him to crack, to snap. To blow it all away. The whispers of their minds rang loud in Steve’s ear, another tune on the now symphony that accompanied him.
What he does is smile, and pretend everything is alright.or
Steve wakes up in a new century where everything is too loud and everyone he knows is dead, and now he's all alone to deal with the grief and a super enhanced body that doesn't feel quite like his.

Summary
Robby pressed the swinging doors of the Pitt open and rejoined his team, one member left to gather his things in the locker room. He knew he wouldn’t be seeing Langdon again that day. He knew he wouldn’t be seeing him for a long time. He wondered, bleakly, if Langdon was desperate enough to expose what had just happened. Addiction did funny things.
His mind returned to the words exchanged, ‘I lost control but I’m better now.’
His own actions hadn’t been a loss of control. What he’d done was reckless, ruthless and risky but it was not a loss of control. It was a forfeiture of it. He couldn’t pretend Langdon hadn’t breached hospital policy. He could never put Langdon above the hospital, but he could put him above himself. If Langdon went down, he would go down with him.
Or the one where Robby needs Langdon to know he's got him.

Summary
Frank Langdon had spent years navigating the cutthroat world of museum politics. When he had graduated, he’d begun to claw his way up from the bottom of the barrel at Carnegie Museum. He quickly realised that the buzzwords people espouse, dedication and hard work were platitudes for nobodies who would never climb up more than one or two rungs up the ladder.
It wasn’t about rolling up your sleeves and an honest day’s work. It was about knowing, and fucking over the right people.

Summary
"Uh-huh. Great, huh? Been putting in a lot of extra-credit time with the boss, Whitaker?"
And that's nasty, he knows. He knows the feeling of needing desperately to keep a secret. The shameful heat of the benzos in his pocket, the blissful hot drip of cum in his scrubs. He shouldn't be toying with Whitaker like this. And yet."
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Frank, back from rehab, finds himself replaced.
Whitaker finds himself feeling something like pity. (Is that all?)
Robby - well. Who the fuck knows what Robby feels?

Summary
He told Mikey he wouldn't touch another pill for as long as he lived, something he's sure the guy has heard from every passing person who's entered inpatient, sat in those hard unforgiving metal chairs. They probably stopped keeping a tally of how many showed back up again with the same solemn promise as if they forgot they already broke it the first time.
Addiction is a constant fight, where the opponent learns how to lose more than they'll ever win. Relapse expected, it's just how it goes.
Frank just has a devastating reason to be so terribly certain he won't.
In the aftermath of a harsh sober reality, Dr. Frank Langdon returns to The Pitt to face whatever mess he left behind while trying not to fray apart at the seams.
