Summary
Rationally, Kaveh shouldn’t ask Alhaitham if he wants Kaveh to help him. He really shouldn’t. Sex could ruin this peace treaty they have non-verbally contracted between them. Sex could mean things will get horribly, terribly awkward. Sex would mean that Kaveh would never be able to look at Alhaitham without thinking of the memory of Alhaitham’s hands all over his body.
“Have you really thought this through?” Alhaitham asks once again, and he hasn’t sounded this serious since his offer to house Kaveh so many moons ago.
“This is my fault, as you said. I should take responsibility.” Kaveh weakly replies, licking his lips nervously. “Right?”

“Alhaitham?” He nearly whispers, his voice cracking over the syllables of your name. It surprises you, the rush of emotion that swells over you, the way him simply saying your name for the first time in half a decade causes you to need to breathe in deeply once again. It seems as though his ability to rob you of your air is still present.
“Kaveh.” You mirror back, fighting for neutrality, fighting for a passiveness you have never really felt around him. What can you say that won't cause him to leave you again? “It’s been a long time.”

Summary
Let it be known that Alhaitham, in all his years of being, could never have seen Kaveh coming. Never could have imagined that an intelligent, kind, and broke architect would stumble into the gold-gilded lamp he called his prison and set him free of it. And he certainly never thought he would fall in love the way he had for those carmine eyes and aureate locks.

There is this precarious moment—not necessarily hesitation because they have long since given up on figuring out how they feel about this newfangled back and forth between them—where Diluc stares at him like he has no idea what to do next. Kaeya almost wishes it could just be lust that he sees in those ruby-coloured eyes.
Are you scared of me? Kaeya wants to ask when Diluc looks at him like that. Of what I’ve done to you? Of who I’ve become because of you?
Or even the other way around—of who you’ve become, the things you’ve done?
Kaeya never does ask; he simply does the next already well-practised step in their uncanny waltz and hops off the stool to walk over, grabs Diluc’s collar, and kisses the bar owner as hard as he can.

"Okay, but objectively," Kaveh started, pacing back and forth across the living room rug, "do you guys think he's hot?"
"We've never seen his face, Kaveh."
"Stop looking at me like that. I just want to know if he's handsome. Is that a crime?"
Alhaitham, who had gone very quiet, snapped his book shut.
"I need to make a call."
Kaveh blinked at him. "A call? To who?"
"Work."
Tighnari frowned. "You've never mentioned what you actually do for work."
Alhaitham was already halfway to the door. "Because none of you would understand it."
Kaveh is a cosplayer; in other words, a modern-day Prince Charming in a world where chivalry is dead, as quoted from Cyno.
All artists know that art, in any form, comes from a fundamental basis of inspiration. He's a very big fan of the anonymous comic book author known by the pseudonym “Sage". He doesn't make much of an effort to hide this fact.
The only issue is this: he also has no idea that "Sage" lives in the same apartment, one door down.
