For some reason, Valerie seems a lot more likely to run into local freak Danny Fenton while it's raining. Why it's like that she couldn't tell you, but she can tell you this: surprisingly, she doesn't mind that much. And something tells her that he's okay with it, too.
It's surprising, but maybe it shouldn't be. Rain tends to make the world feel a little different. More gentle, sorrowful, exciting. Maybe that means it's natural that every time Valerie and Danny meet like this, they find themselves warming up to each other a little more.
Slowly, affection starts to drip from her heart like water droplets, running down her skin into the hand holding his, and she feels herself fall a little farther.
