A long, LONG silence unfolded between them. Stretching out and out into eternity. When Leo went to speak again, his voice was unsteady; caught off-guard. Wet with confusion and heartbreak. Asking,
“Raph… Where is this coming from? What the hell are you talking about?”Raphael knows what he's good for. He also knows it's gonna kill him eventually- the only question is when and how. His brothers really don't seem to like that. He can't imagine why.

It was only partly a joke. Leonardo gazed up at him, eyes glassy. It was hard to gauge how much of their conversation was sticking the landing and how much was somersaulting straight over his sluggish head.
Then Leonardo said, “He hates me.”
“Pardon?” Splinter said stupidly.
His son blinked, and finally fat tears rolled down his cheeks, soaking into bandages on one side, unchecked on the other.
“He hates me,” Blue insisted. “He’s right. It was my fault.”

There's a long silence before Raphael realizes he's towering over his little brother with breaths turned heavy with his anger and his weeping bloody snout, and he reels himself back, in search of his discarded rag somewhere near the sandbag.
"Raph?"
"It's fine, Leo," he hastily corrects, licking the top row of his teeth and trying to ignore the taste of copper.
It's your blood, he reminds himself, so it doesn't matter.

Fifteen-year-old Raphael knows that because he was good at being a peacemaker, a leader, and their rock– he doesn’t exactly want to be.
Despite it, he knows he wouldn’t trade anything else in the world. He would suffer every day if it meant they were safe.
Sometimes, when they’re in those situations with so little in their favour– Raph truly wishes that he was able to solve them with the same painful determination he shouldn’t have harboured at his age.
Sometimes he wishes pure instinct was enough.
…But it isn't.
And seventeen-year-old Raph cages his baby brother, who's cradling the key in his arms and staring at back at him in horror. The appendage points directly between Leo’s eyes, twitching against the perforation it impaled at Raph’s carapace, slicing his shoulder and cracking through his plastron. Shards of his shell trickle next to him. The pain is unbearable, rumbling through his body as he fends off the animalistic urge to tend to it, his entire form shaking.
Explores Raph's trauma in the movie, basically what happened during/in between him getting captured, interrogated, mutated and freed
Will involve an aftermath focusing on their recovery, because I'm not a sicko.

Raph grit his teeth, growling into his communicator as he pushed against the snake mutant. His tonfas were knocked away a while ago, so Raph had to resort to his own strength. His brothers had all been awake when he left to go on patrol, but given that it was now 3:34 in the morning, they were probably all asleep. He'd been hoping that the noise of the fight would be enough to wake up someone, but there was still no response.

Donnie walks in undisturbed, his headphones thumping a fast and loud beat before the turtle collapses on the couch. “It’s the wrestling team,” Donnie answers the unasked question with a yawn, and Splinter marvels at the fact that the boy can hear anything at all. “They won’t let him compete. Hell, they hardly let him scrimmage half the time.”
“Language,” Splinter frowns. Another crash echoes through the home and he takes a worried step forward. “But why? The videos you’ve shown me look very good. He never loses!”
“Take a guess,” Donnie snorts. He turns his phone sideways and the screen sparks to life with a small pixeled soldier. “Honestly, I don’t know what he thought was going to happen.” Another crash shakes the sewers and Donnie cranes his neck toward the hallway. “That better not be my stuff!” he shouts.
