Summary
“… What was that?” Gem stared at him like she had seen a ghost. Her jaw might as well have been touching the cobblestone and her eyes looked about to bulge out of her skull. She had turned about 5 shades whiter.
“Oh, it's Scar’s newest bit,” Grian answered casually. It was definitely nothing that warranted that sort of reaction, didn't even make top 5 of craziest things Scar had done. Maybe not even top 10. He flattened the shopping district overnight just a few weeks ago.
“His newest bit…” Gem shook her head, recomposing herself. “Can you please explain what exactly is the bit?” Before Grian could reply, she added: “From the very beginning, with as many details as possible. What is wrong with you two?”(or: Scar rehearses to get the best love confession)

Summary
He was never given the privilege of an explanation. He was barely awake, his brain lagging and muddled with fog when the metal door of his cell slid open, and people in sealed suits took his arms, and he was transported to another, albeit slightly larger, room.
They left him there without saying a thing and ignored him when he asked what was going on.

What if Jack was there from the beginning to help give Simon hope before being put into the Iron Lung?

Summary
In a dry, raspy voice, Simon croaks, “Fuck.”
Immediately, the blurry figure’s head snaps over to look at him. “Are you awake, or just talking in your sleep again?” an unfamiliar voice demands—low, with a twitch of an accent that Simon doesn’t recognize.
Simon blinks, but his vision only clears minimally. The ceiling is an off-white blur that smears as he turns his head to look at the stranger. He doesn’t recognize him; bandages obscure the details of his face. “I talk in my sleep?” he asks.
“A lot. It’s annoying.”
—
Simon wakes up in sick bay, quarantined with the man he accidentally irradiated and permanently blinded. Mutual hatred (of a sort) ensues.Series

Summary
He focuses on her voice over the pain and rapidly dwindling oxygen. It sounds like she’s walking as she speaks—he can hear her footsteps. She says he’s earned his freedom. More than that, he’s a hero. She tells him it’s a good day: for humanity, for him. He wants to believe her.
The footsteps stop. A moment of silence, and then—“Why isn’t he out yet?”
OR
Simon gets the data. True her word, Ava pulls him out. It’s not necessarily over after that.
