Wordlessly, Bakugou raises his right arm. Eijirou’s left arm rises with it.
Eijirou gapes at their conjoined appendages. How their limbs firmly connect from the elbow onwards, their hands clasping and fingers twining together firmly.
He tries to pull his hand free. It doesn’t budge.
He tries to wiggle his fingers loose. They don’t move an inch.
The dots connect.

He doesn’t know what to say, so he tugs on Okkotsu’s hand until their arms are flush together, and lays his head on the taller boy’s shoulder. He knows he’s crossing a line. Shame drips into the mix of longing and steadfast grief that’s already swirling in his gut, because the boy he’s soothing right now has a girlfriend, and he’ll never get as close as her. He’ll never get this close again. He can only ever really love the idea of Okkotsu Yuuta, and if it makes him sick and twisted to be satisfied with that, well, Inumaki Toge was raised by serpents, and serpents are the very embodiment of greed. He’ll take what he can get.

The tension is suffocating, the air thick as Fushiguro doesn’t let go for several long moments. In fact, he holds on until Yuji finally musters up enough courage to ask, “what are you-”
“Sorry.” Fushiguro cuts in hastily, dropping Yuji’s wrist and it leaves his skin feeling unpleasantly cold. “Just checking,” he adds, voice mumbled. Quiet enough that Yuji almost misses what was said. He wants to question what Fushiguro had meant by that, but his friend is already pushing past him and heading to their starting positions.
His own fingers brush up against his wrist, they don’t bring him the same searing touch that Fushiguro’s did. Instead he’s met with clammy skin and the faint thrum of his own pulse.
Oh. His pulse.

The boy eyes him, silent for a moment. He studies Yoshiki, but he’s not judgmental, and it’s weird, he thinks. Not being judged.
“I was a monster, too,” the boy eventually says. “He still loves me.”
__OR: crossover moment!!! the jjk trio are sent to kubitachi on a mission to identify and monitor potential curse activity in the area. at the same time, yoshiki meets a couple of city folk who just might be able to change his entire life’s perspective.
