Summary
At the end of his first two years playing professionally, Ilya is not signed with Boston. After his surprise reentry to the draft, the Montreal Metros stun the hockey world by choosing Ilya Rozanov, Shane Hollander's arch rival, to join their team. Neither Ilya nor Shane are particularly happy with this arrangement.
For Shane, he's spent the past two years trying very hard not to remember that awkward moment in the showers, when he sort of kind of got aroused at the sight of Ilya's ass, and then bolted out of the locker room without looking back, embarrassment hot on his cheeks. Having Rozanov around again isn't good for his mental and physical stability, regardless of how great they are on the ice together.
For Ilya, he can't afford a distraction like Hollander right now, not after his career has been thrown into jeopardy. He can't be sent back to Russia, not now, so he commits himself to playing fantastic hockey and putting as much distance between the Metros prodigy and himself as possible.
Too bad their coach decides to make them roommates on the road this season. That should go well, right?

“S’like…like my brain shuts off, finally,” Shane mumbles. “Like everything is floaty, and my arms and legs go numb, and like, all I can feel or think about is just him. It’s like flying, sort of, and then, like, afterwards, he cuddles me and brings me back down to earth.”
“Oh, so he puts you in subspace?”
Shane blinks blankly at her. “Huh?”
“Y’know, like, dominant/submissive type stuff. Where like, the dom puts the sub into subspace.”
Shane shakes his head. “I have no idea what that means.”

Shane kissed him, then nestled his head into the curve of his neck. Ilya tried to remember how to breathe. It felt like insects were crawling under his skin again. He didn’t want to leave, fuck, he never wanted to leave again. He wanted Shane to press his face to his skin for the rest of his life, just like this. He wanted to break open Shane’s ribcage and crawl inside it.
(His heart did not feel big enough for everything he wanted from it.)

“Why did you have to go and get traded?! You realise we’re going to have to see each other every day from now on, and play together, and-”
“Yes,” Ilya interrupted. He didn’t want to know how long Hollander’s list was. “I know.”
Hollander took a deep breath. “Okay, listen,” he said. “Just so we’re clear - we don’t know each other outside of playing against each other, right?”
“Right.”
“And we can’t- can’t hook up anymore.”

OR: Ilya gets traded to Montreal in October 2014. He's lonely, and angry, and he misses Boston. He doesn't know if it helps that Hollander is there or not.

Summary
The Swiss National League doesn’t care about the legendary Hollander-Rozanov rivalry. When the MLH can’t negotiate with the Hockey Players’ Union in time to prevent a hockey lockout at the start of the 2015 season, the Zürich Lions jump at the chance to sign both Shane and Ilya to short-term contracts. For four months in Switzerland, they share a team, a line, a house, and a bed.
Then the lockout ends in January, and it’s time to go back. Back to different countries, cities, lives. Beds.
Reentry is harder than expected.

Summary
Dean Winchester’s been camp manager of a science research station on the Alaskan tundra for thirteen years. Dean likes his job; fixing the camp trucks, troubleshooting the generators, keeping clueless undergrads and NSF bigwigs from walking into grizzly bears or getting lost in snowstorms — it’s all in a day’s work. It keeps him pretty busy, and this year his brother Sam's visiting too, so he's even busier. So it’s really not any of Dean’s business when some weirdo antisocial ornithologist sets up a tent a few miles away, a dark-haired blue-eyed guy who’s doing a “very long-term" study on birds or wings or something, and who never, ever takes off his big lumpy backpack. But then the new guy starts dropping by camp for coffee and... well, he’s not officially part of camp; he's not Dean’s responsibility; he’s really not Dean’s problem at all, but when a strange blizzard comes sweeping in, Dean gets worried and goes to check. Thing is, Dean's spent years in the sweeping vistas of the Arctic. He knows all about the midnight sun and the northern lights, the ice caves and avalanches, the rough-and-ready Haul Road truckers and the even rougher-and-readier wild animals. But even so, what he finds is much more than he bargained for.
