“About what you did today,” he sees her tense once again, “I usually would not allow such things to happen in my presence, however,” Jinshi pauses again when the apothecary looks up to him, “I must say that I admired your actions today. I don't think that any other person would have done as you had, even if it was to save Lady Lihua’s life. I thank you greatly.” He finally looks at her to make eye contact and feels his lips turn up at the corners.
The apothecary can only stare at him as she talks, never breaking stride, “No need to thank me. I am only following my orders.” She stops walking and raises her arms in front of her as she bows, “I must retire to my room now, goodnight, Master Jinshi.”
Jinshi watches her as she retreats and a quiet goodnight passes his lips.

After Maomao saved Jinshi from nearly being crushed to death by a falling beam, there were still a lot of questions that needed answering. But more importantly, Maomao still had a lot of healing to do. Suiren said she needed fifteen stitches in her leg, but it's her head that seems to be giving her the most trouble...
Meanwhile, Jinshi can't believe just how close he'd come to losing her. Nor can he believe how little she seems to think of the whole affair.
