Finally, he spoke, his voice low and rough. “I can’t. You’d hate me if I told you.”
“Oh, Loki.” In an act of boldness, Asa tentatively brought her hand up to his cheek, where she caressed the wet line that marked the path of his tears. “You’re my best friend. Nothing could make me hate you.”
Slight AU. Loki has just come of age and a grand feast is thrown in celebration. Loki is particularly excited to be reunited with his childhood friend who he hasn't seen in several months. However, before the celebration begins, Odin summons Loki and proceeds to reveal his heritage to Loki. Emotional upheaval and shock ensues. Asa notices Loki doesn't seem himself at the celebration and when he leaves prematurely, she follows after him and confronts him on what is wrong.
