“Mu Qing.” Feng Xin said as he toed off his shoes. “Hm?” Mu Qing replied, taking off his black jacket to hang it neatly on the rack by the door.
Feng Xin was more messy: his shoes clattering to the ground loudly and his jacket falling to the floor in a heap. Mu Qing groaned and straightened up Feng Xin’s mess.
“Want to go out for dinner?” Feng Xin asked. Mu Qing brushed some dust off his shirt sleeve and met Feng Xin’s eyes. “I dunno, hon. I’m awfully tired.”
The pair had just returned to their shared studio apartment from their dreadfully draining office jobs. Mu Qing being forced to be a personal assistant for a conceded and demanding boss, Feng Xin making spreadsheets until his fingers ached.
Feng Xin noticed that Mu Qing’s pretty face was laced with an air of tiredness, and beneath his eyes hung light dark circles.
He desperately wanted to cup the pretty face in his hands.

Hua Cheng’s throat went dry, hand gripping the chopsticks he had been spinning. He was already thinking of how to apologise, ready to get down on his knees and beg for forgiveness for whatever he’d managed to screw up. “Yes, Gege?” He appealed in anticipation.
Yet nothing could have made him anticipate the next words out of Xie Lian’s mouth.
“I think you could’ve been a little kinder to yourself today.”

"General Xuan Zhen...! He is in a meeting-" The junior official on guard attempted to reason, but before he could finish his sentence Mu Qing had busted through the doors, face red and brow creased.
To anyone else, Mu Qing would just seem to be quite angry, but Feng Xin knew better. The undeniable flush of his face he'd grown rather familiar with, and the slight tremble of his lower jaw as his eyes found his, this was something else entirely.
Mu Qing took no less than a moment to compose himself before striding forward again, although he was less worried about appearances upon discovering Feng Xin's meeting was with Pei Ming. He celebrated a silent victory as Feng Xin's gaze remained locked on him as he approached.
