Nathalia continua a correr pela trilha de barro, mato e cascalho, mergulhada em seu pavor e incapaz de controlar seus arquejos desesperados a cada passo que dá na tentativa de se afastar do homem maníaco e evitar a visão de Lila inconsciente, fadada a morrer. Lágrimas ameaçam escorrer de seus olhos. Em um momento, seu salto-alto tropeça em uma pedra maior, o tropeço repentino fazendo seu pé direto a se torcer dolorosamente. A agonia lhe atinge em cheio, fazendo a grunhir, embora se force a ignorar a sensação e a permanecer de pé.
Um arrepio percorre sua espinha.
Algo familiar, uma sensação que sempre sente quando está em apuros. O pavor se intensifica em seu âmago, seus instintos detectando o perigo iminente, apesar de o serial killer estar distante.
Quando olha por cima dos ombros, nota os braços musculosos do assassino se erguerem acima da cabeça, enquanto ele emite um bufar furioso através da máscara. Sem tempo para hesitar, Nathalia para e se vira, encarando o assassino à distância enquanto ele grunhe e arremessa o machado.

Summary
Tony Stark is no stranger to being stuck in his own head. On a good day, that head contains the ingenuity which built an AI-equipped robot at the age of sixteen and the tenacity which turned a death sentence into a superhero origin story. On a bad day, Tony’s mind is a prison, replaying his failures and highlighting his faults with unerring precision. For wasn’t it that same ingenuity and tenacity which created Ultron?
Learning the truth about his parents’ deaths catalyzed a spiral of bad days, dragging Tony down, down, down, deep into the darkest corners of his mind. But even caged by the mammoth weight of depression, there’s a small spark within him still clinging to life. That spark flares brighter whenever he wakes up next to Pepper. Catches a ride with Happy. Sees Rhodey walk. The spark might flare in exasperation whenever he receives a text from Peter Parker, but Tony can’t deny the joy every inane video and incomprehensible meme brings.
So, yes. Tony Stark is no stranger to being stuck in his own head. But luckily, he has an amazing family to pull him back out.

Summary
Homecoming AU.
Ben and May divorced before Peter’s parents died, so when Ben is murdered Peter goes into foster care. It takes just a tiny taste of superpowers for Peter to decide he doesn’t want to put up with his horrible foster father anymore—the streets are infinitely more appealing. All he wants is to be Spider-Man anyway.
So he leaves.
Simple.
Simple, that is, until Iron Man needs Spider-Man’s help. Peter isn’t about to turn down an opportunity to fight alongside Tony Freaking Stark, but he also isn’t going to let his hero know that his recruit is a fifteen-year-old homeless dropout. So they strike a deal. Peter will help Tony. In return, the mask stays on.
And that’s when things get complicated.

The last thing Peter sees is Tony's horrified, heartbroken expression leaning over him. The guilt in his eyes is almost worse than the burning pain that's taking Peter apart piece by piece. The world starts to go dark.
There's a flash of gold and green. For one moment, he finds himself standing amongst the Guardians and others. And then darkness again. It feels like blinking; an extended period of nothingness that ends as abruptly as it begins. One moment there’s nothing, the next there’s light.
“Easy,” a woman says. Her words are gentle, and carry a slight accent that he can’t place. "I'm called Wonder Woman. What's your name?"
