The smile. That was what did her in, in the end. The cute little grin he got after discussing some nerdy shit with Ned, or the silent smile he gave after answering a question right during chem that Flash didn’t. When he was concentrating on his notes or an assignment, his mouth twisted into an adorable smile.
The most frustrating part was that he didn’t even know he was doing it.

Summary
When Shane Hollander’s grandmother dies, he deals with his grief by fufilling a promise he made her when she was still healthy. In his journey, the teenager finds himself enrolled in Moscow’s private school system under a shiny hockey scholarship.
On the Russian ice, he meets a boy with wet blue eyes and a mean mouth that seems like he lost someone too. Between some prideful fights, tentative jabs, silently holding hands in the dark and relative hunting, the teens seal an unlikely bound.
They keep finding each other after that. Again, and again.
