“You may think me foolish for being so…” Tav trails off for a moment and tilts his head, presumably searching for a correct word. There are a great many reasons for Astarion to question his companion’s intelligence, to be frank. “Certain and— Positive about all this.”
That’s one way to put it. Astarion gives him an overly sweet smile and, on an impulse, reaches up to tug one of the dark blue strands of hair behind the pointed ear. He scoffs, “Something along the lines of ‘deluded’ has crossed my mind if I’m being honest.”
“A novelty,” Tav remarks with a huff.
Or; how it would've gone if meeting the Gur hunter rattled Astarion a little bit more than in canon, and Tav was even bolder about what he wants

Not that she has any problem with Astarion, the case just is that him feeding from her while she is still conscious is profoundly intimate and she can’t really be sure if Astarion has noticed or even if he particularly cares, about how quickly her heart races when he does it.
