    Summary

"What will it take for you to show yourself? " He'd asked a few months later as they stumbled through the packed streets of evening Tokyo on their way to the barbershop. Kinji had said he needed a "relooking" and Kirara had been quick to realize his own hair was a bit of a mess.

Kirara had stared blankly at him, overgrown curls covering halfway down his ears.

"I already showed you my technique?" Stargazed pupils staring questioningly at this unpredictable new leader.

Kinji's infuriating laugh arrived without a second of delay, his arm coming to rest atop of Kirara's shoulders.

"I'm not talking about that, big boy."

    Summary

His hand is tugged up, and moved so that it covers Deku’s mouth like a gag. He feels the other boy’s lips move, slowly. Repeating the same words over and over again.

    Dread spreads through his chest.

Katsuki copies the movements with his own mouth, exhaling sound around them.

“I...can’t—” Katsuki stops. He is staring, but he knows he is not staring at Deku’s face. Who knows what he's staring at. He doesn’t know either.

“You can’t speak,” he says for Deku, and feels the other boy’s head move in an exaggerated nod.

This, Katsuki thinks, is pretty fucking bad.

Katsuki is blinded. Izuku is muted. Both of them are kidnapped. Things get worse.

    Summary

“Who in the hell did you get in a fight with, Deku?” Katsuki demanded again. Izuku groaned loudly, ripping up a handful of grass and sprinkling it all over his face. The expanse of stars flickered in and out of view, reminding Katsuki of much simpler clear nights – clear nights when he still had this idiot beside him, but lucid and covered in bruises from bike crashes and tripping over roots, not fistfights with strangers.

“Does it even matter who?” Izuku finally muttered. “It was just someone.”

Katsuki looked over at his best friend, curled up on the ground with bits of blood coating his lips and blades of grass sprinkled all over his messed-up face. “I guess it doesn’t matter,” he admitted, “but I’d prefer you fucking invite me next time.”
