Steve's feet stumbled more than walked, but Hopper didn't care. He half-carried, half-dragged the kid toward the emergency room doors, his jaw clenched so tight it ached. Every step felt like it took too long.
As the two of them started to slowly stumble to the front of the ER, Hopper took a brief moment to think about it. Took a moment to think how despite everything—despite barely knowing the kid, despite all his preconceptions and assumptions, despite the amount of times Steve had purposefully acted like a smart-ass punk just to piss him off—Hopper had realized something tonight:
Steve Harrington was a good kid.

Summary
During the strike there's more time between the rally and the plan to use the printing press in the basement of the World. Newsies are rightfully pissed with Jack and he'd be the first person to tell you that he deserved the cold treatment he's been getting ever since his betrayal. As aware as Jack is that this is just the consequences of his actions he'll still do anything to make up for what he's done, he despises what things have become and he won't just stand by and let the people he cares about pull away from him. He throws himself into his quest for forgiveness without so much as a second thought.
Jack didn't realize that even though his boys were angry with him they could never hate him. Maybe if he'd just taken a minute to talk about what happened things wouldn't have spiraled the way they did.

Summary
Instead of just having Jack sleep on the printing press the Delancey's and Snyder do much worse. At the same time the newsies are falling apart without their leader even with David's attempts to cover till Jack gets back. Katherine knows Jack needs help but will the newsies still trust her after they learn the truth.
OR
I always found it weird that the only thing the Delancey's did to Jack when they had the chance to seriously harm him, was have him sleep on a printing press, so I changed that. There is also a lot of hurt for Jack but a lot of love from his newsies, Katherine and Medda for him after.
