But Rodion knows, too. She shakes her head; defiant as him. Not pest. Not vermin. Not The Roach Emperor Valencina had crowed about. Nothing what G Corp forced him to be. That's not their Gregor, not when they know him better than anyone else. Their Gregor is cranky. Always complaining about his back. Their Gregor makes jokes that has everyone cringing slightly. Their Gregor is bitter and lonely and kind.

Jon picked himself up with a frown. “You can’t be the hero.”
Robb nodded. “Everyone knows Greyjoys are villains.”
Theon’s hand tightened on the hilt of his sword until his knuckles ached. If they’d been brothers in true, he would have thrashed them for that. Rodrik would have. They weren’t his brothers though. They were his friends, his captor’s children. They were as close as he’d get to what Lord Stark had promised.
Theon made himself laugh. “I’ll show you a villain,” he shouted and charged, gently though, playfully. They fled laughing instead of in tears. ]
