He put a hand over Sethos’ chest. “They wrap around your organs, the deepest parts of you, and when divinity is ripped from us, its roots stay lodged inside, like a parasite.”

The leaves fly all over the realm, obscuring her vision. The colors before her no longer make sense, but they are swirling, twinkling, flickering—bright, dark, vivid and dull.
She does not question it. She knows perfectly well what is happening.
She has always known every single corner of her thoughts, every single argument to make against it. She has always known the reason for her every act, her every thought, her every response.
She simply dislikes swallowing the bitter pill.
Still a child, is she not?
(She thinks, and thinks, even though she knows the answer to everything. Even though she knows this, in the end, is all for nothing.)
