    Summary

Phainon's life isnt an easy one: rent is going up, dating had been nothing but a disaster, and now the entire internet thinks he’s gay because he kept looking— absolutely not staring— at the male barista during his date.

He swears he’s straight. Totally. Completely.
It’s just that... Well... The barista has a lethal face card, okay?
And maybe a really nice body too... He's saying it in a bro way, of course!

Or; Phainon is pretty sure he's not into guys. At least until the universe—or Cipher, he isnt sure about it yet— decides to test it, by making him share an apartment with the most attractive man he had ever seen.

"Come on, please, please, please. You'd be perfect for it," Cipher says, leaning over the marble bar counter Mydei is trying to wipe down.

Mydei just sighs. Every year, like clockwork, come recruitment time, she pleads Mydei to join the Okheman Bachelor.

On paper, Mydei can see his appeal: The sole heir apparent to the family business that is Kremnos Corp. A successful chef with his own restaurant and a Memchelin star under his belt before he'd even turned 25. And Mydei is aware he isn't exactly hard on the eyes; He works out. Keeps himself well-groomed. But he isn't interested in entering a dating show. No offence to Cipher, but he doubts anyone in their right mind is.

    ---
Or on Cipher's insistence, Mydei agrees to join the Okheman Bachelor to piss off his father. It isn't quite as terrible as he'd assumed, thanks to a certain cameraman.

It’s been a long, confusing night, and Wei Wuxian can’t take any more. “Hug privilege?” he asks, his voice rising in pitch. “You guys are talking about Lan-laoshi, right?”

Jingyi favors him with the kind of withering glance teens use to make adults feel like complete idiots. It works. “You think he can’t be kind to people? Just because you don’t want to be hugged by him.”

“Shh,” Sizhui says. “Wei-laoshi isn’t like that. It’s none of our business.”

“Hey,” Wei Wuxian says. “I like hugs.”

“But these are heartbreak hugs,” Zizhen says. “Obviously Lan-laoshi is an expert in that. Since he’s really been there. Obviously.”

A modern AU: Wei Wuxian is stunned when he comes back from sabbatical to find that fellow teacher Lan Zhan is suddenly the school’s unofficial relationship counselor (aka The Heartbreak Specialist remix)

Eventually he heard a soft thump and when he turned around he saw Wangji had put Wei Wuxian down on the ground.

“Wei Ying,” his brother said with a soft expression tucking a lock of hair behind Wei Wuxian’s ear. “You came back to me.”

“Of course I did, husband! My place is always by your side!” Wei Wuxian cried.

    “Husband?” Wangji parroted.

    “Yes?” Wei Wuxian replied.

Wangji frowned. “Wei Ying, we are not married…”

    Yet…Lan Xichen thought to himself.

(Or…Xichen gets drunk and makes a wish for his brother, that wish comes true when Wei Wuxian returns to Cloud Recesses believing he is married to Lan Wangji)

    Summary

After a falling out with his parents regarding his future, Ren Amamiya enrolls in a culinary arts academy in the United States.

There, miles across the sea, he has a chance encounter with Goro Akechi, who’d left him with a single glove and the memory of a bitterly cold winter evening.

…He also learns that Akechi really can’t cook to save his life, nor can he afford takeout at the moment.

Ren, eager to prove himself beyond curry and coffee, needs a harsh critic in order to hone his culinary skills. Someone who won’t just nod politely and choke down whatever’s on the plate.

So, they strike up another deal.
Ren will prepare a new dish each time they meet. Akechi will taste it, and give his verdict.
If Ren can get Akechi to rank any meal an honest ten out of ten, then that means he’s succeeded.

It’s a simple deal. And nothing could possibly complicate things.
