Summary
It's been two years since Gurathin's last overdose, keeping him from a long sabotage mission meant to get rid of some far-away planetary leader.
He hates it kind of makes sense the Company won't send him alone now: Deep cover, several weeks long. A hotel whose private networks he'll use to data-mine, and people he'll have to kill. His bodyguard is supposed to pose as an augmented human, though — So of course he wonders if they're sending him to die. SecUnits aren't even sentient. Right?
Maybe the best thing he could do is disappear. And maybe the best way to try is doing it together.

Summary
Kukri kept sending me media about “Robbing the Hood” and telling me to watch it, that I’d understand what was going on better if I did, but I had no interest in watching people rob Hoods, whatever those were. I didn’t like robbing in real life (I did it because I had to not because I wanted to) and I doubted I’d like it in media.
Shortly after hacking its governor module, a rogue SecUnit is involved in an ill-fated space battle and finds itself alone save for the company of a mourning raider ship bot pilot. It would like to spend the rest of its life watching media in what remains of the ship's crew quarters, but it turns out that "the rest of its life" wouldn't be long at all without the money to pay for proper maintenance. There seems to be only one way to get that money.

Summary
The augmented human turned on his heel and left, trailed by a drone. I continued to stand around for a bit, facing but not really looking at a large, leafy shrub that the humans had placed in this area for aesthetic purposes.
Aesthetics mattered to humans. They mattered to me, too, I guess. There were unquestionably things that I liked the appearance of: my favorite jacket, the glitter of lights across the hull of a nice ship, the color of the tiles I’d picked out for my shower. Even some of Ratthi’s handmade jewelry held visual appeal—don’t tell him I said that. But a sentient entity? A SecUnit?
Me?
What a bizarre concept.

It's a strange conversation. So open. And yet I feel so happy and relaxed. Murderbot shouldn't be worrying about me. My readings might be off, but I feel good.
I consider that statement again. “Bharadwaj?”

“Sit up a second and look at me.” We face each other. I hold her hands because the thought I'm having worries me intensely, but I still feel happy and relaxed and that worries me more. I search her face, focus on her pupils. They’re blown wide.
“Oh, fuck.”Bharadwaj offers stay sober at a party with Gurathin. It goes horribly wrong.

Summary
What the fuck was going on? Gurathin tore his eyes away from SecUnit, looking for something, anything that would explain why the hell his spouse was acting so weirdly. Mensah and SecUnit weren’t the only people in the room with him; there was Ratthi, Pin-Lee, Arada, Overse and… himself? Gurathin stared at himself, who stared right back at him.
After escaping his death, Gurathin finds himself in the past, hours after the attack on Bharadwaj and Volescu, with no idea how or why he was there. In the shows he has watched, with SecUnit messing with the past always came with catastrophic consequences, so knowing about GrayCris, DeltFall, and the command override module, Gurathin must decide what he should do. Tell them everything or keep it to himself as he fights to get back to the future he knows.

Summary
We were watching Sanctuary Moon when it happened.
We’d gotten to the part where Captain Hossein and the Navigation Unit were stranded planetside—the whole scene bathed in violet hues to bring out the romantic overtones. (Much more appealing than actual planets.)
“I love this bit,” Ratthi said.
Truthfully, I like it, too. And I could have said as much. Or I could have said nothing at all. Both were valid options. But instead, I decided to be the contrary asshole and went with option C.
“It’s implausible,” I said.
Ratthi looked confused and I realized I needed to elaborate.
“There’s no way a unit built to navigate starships would take a romantic interest in somebody.”
And that’s when I felt it—the sudden absence. If I’m honest, I hadn’t realized how closely ART had managed to sidle up against me in the feed until it was gone.
OR
An offhand comment leads to a misunderstanding between SecUnit and ART, and—possibly—a discussion about what they really are to each other.
