    "Alright, Doctor Wheeler. You're up."
"What?" Mike replied. His gaze bounced between Will's wound, his eyes and his lips.
"I can't do the next part, my hands are too shaky. You'll have to stitch it up."
Mike felt like throwing up. He looked down at the needle and suture sitting in the kit. It's like they were staring at him, mocking him.
    "I-"
    "Please, Mike."
"I don't want to hurt you, Will."
Will thought that was quite generous of him, considering how much Will had hurt Mike within the last 20 or so minutes. Within the last year and a half, actually.
Will was sure he was looking at an angel, not Mike Wheeler. Or maybe Mike Wheeler was the angel he was looking at. Who would've thought that Mike also had a secret identity this whole time? An angel in disguise.

Logline: While on the brink of death, Will decides to pay Mike a late-night visit after not seeing him for a year and a half.
Logline 2: Mike finds out in the craziest way possible that his best friend (who he hasn't seen in over a year) was actually a rooftop-swinging, tight suit-wearing, complete idiot of a superhero and it all starts with waking up to Spiderman bleeding out in his living room.

He staggered back over the edge, crying out. Just in time, Spiderman shot out an arm to grab him from around the waist, pulling Mike out of danger. Mike cursed himself, adrenaline pumping wildly. The superhero chuckled, getting them as far away from the edge of the rooftop as possible, before letting Mike go.

“You okay?” Spiderman asked, and Mike could almost see his grin of amusement.

Mike, on the other hand, was the epitome of embarrassment. “Uh,” He croaked. He felt like crying.

“Seriously, are you going into cardiac arrest?” Spiderman asked, putting a hand on Mike’s shoulder.

Mike felt himself flush deeper. “No. No- yeah. I’m fine. Thank you.” He looked at the ground. The right knee of his khakis was stained oil-black. How had that even happened?

“You sure?” Spiderman squeezed his shoulder. That was not helping at all.

“Yeah.” Mike nodded, and Spiderman released his grip. “Fine. Thanks for…” He trailed off. “Saving me. I guess.”

    Summary

Hawkins university is full of unseen campus heroes, but Mike wants to change that. He wants to make them seen. He wants to see them.

And he wants someone to see him.

He both writes and photographs for the school newspaper.

A certain unseen campus hero keeps catching Mike’s eye, and soon Mike is needing to see him. Beyond the newspaper, beyond Latte Lane, beyond polite smiles and camera.

“Wait, an- artsy guy from L.A.,” Mike repeats, frowning, “as in-”

Down the hall, the door to Debbie’s office swings open, and Mike’s mouth drops open. “Oh,” he groans, “you have got to be kidding me.”

Will does not look any more pleased to see him than Mike is. “Oh,” he says stiffly, as Debbie’s office door clicks shut behind him. “You again.”

“Nice to see you too,” Mike replies, and Will’s face drops into a scowl.

Exes, rivalries, and far too much mistletoe. What could possibly go wrong?

    Summary

Today, though, is different, because today, Will is feeling incredibly grateful to have this job. All of a sudden he doesn't mind the sweeping and the dusting and the restocking shelves with books that, quite frankly, aren't to his own taste in any way whatsoever, aside from the tiny comic book section tucked away in the darkest part of the store. He's grateful for the silence and the boredom and the wasting his phone battery scrolling through the Instagram accounts of people he doesn't know or care about.

Because the thing is, if Will didn't have this job, he would have never had the opportunity to lay eyes on the very attractive guy that just walked in, and that, in and of itself, is enough to make him feel, vaguely, like his entire life is complete.
