“Is he giving you shit again?” Isaac asks, deadly serious, tipping his bottle in the direction Jamie’s gone. “Just say the word, bruv.” Dani nods in agreement, and knocks his fist against Isaac’s.
“We’re fucking,” Colin blurts out.
Isaac’s eyebrows creep impossibly high up his forehead. Dani spits a mouthful of daiquiri back into his glass. Twin looks of astonishment mixed with confusion are directed his way, and Colin wishes he could melt straight through the floor.
“We’re fucking,” he repeats, and now he’s starting to sound a bit hysterical. “We’re fucking, and he cooks me eggs in the morning, and I don’t know if he wants it to be anything other than that.”

In some twisted way, Jamie wearing Colin’s shirt is about a billion times worse than his bare chest. It’s wholesome. It’s domestic. It’s every word in the English dictionary Colin would never dream of associating with his own life.
He’s prepared to make a beeline for the kettle when Jamie sweeps him up into a hug and presses a soft kiss to the underside of his jaw. He spins Colin around in his grip and slots their lips together, gently coaxing Colin’s mouth open with a sweep of his tongue.

A gentle hand touching his side managed to ground him, but once Colin got his attention, he used it to incline his head toward the closet door.
Jamie shook his head—he’d rather lick Roy’s chest hair than go out there now.
We have to, Colin insisted. It’s wrong.
Why did such bad things happen to such beautiful people? Richard would have stayed in the closet with him. So would have Isaac, and Bumbercatch, and probably even Jan. No, of course Jamie had to fall in love with a sweet bloody saint.

Jamie sighs and takes a careful step forward, as though afraid Colin will scamper away if he makes too sudden of a move. Seeing Colin resist that urge and stand his ground, Jamie crosses the last bit of distance between them and grabs one of Colin’s hands, his thumb skating across his knuckles. No friend has ever held his hand like that.
“Mate, I’ve been telling you every goal I shoot is for you for months now.”
Colin sputters, but doesn’t drop Jamie’s hand. “Yeah, and I thought you meant in a friend way!”
“Who does that in a friend way?”
“I don’t know! Probably the guy who called me mate three seconds ago.”
“Sorry, love,” Jamie says, smooth and sure. The bastard has the audacity to smirk while all the blood in Colin’s body floods to his cheeks. “Is that better?”
