Steve gets jealous when Bucky wants to spend his birthday out dancing and they both use it as an excuse to avoid their feelings for each other.
“I just thought, ya know. We usually hang out together is all,” Steve stumbled over his words, already embarrassed that he’d said anything at all.
Bucky looked back at him, surprised. “Well, of course I want you to go, too,” which only earned him a groan in response.
“Aw, come on Buck, you know how I am about dancing,” Steve protested.

Summary
A Modern day Merlin AU set at the University of St Andrews, featuring teetotal kickboxers, secret wizards, magnificent bodyguards of various genders, irate fairies, imprisoned dragons, crumbling gothic architecture, arrogant princes, adorable engineering students, stolen gold, magical doorways, attempted assassination, drunken students, shaving foam fights, embarrassing mornings after, The Hammer Dance, duty, responsibility, friendship and true love...
This story was inspired by the thought of Prince William of Wales (and indeed the current Max von Hapsburg) studying at the University of St Andrews; it is also, as the title suggests, at least a little inspired by the operetta 'The Student Prince'.

::2019 note: This story was written BEFORE the TV show introduced the character of Gwaine. It's not that I can't spell, or that I'm perversely writing him out of character - I incorporated other characters from Arthurian legend (Kay, Gawain etc) into my story, and lacking prophetic abilities, my versions naturally don't mesh with the versions subsequently introduced into the show.::

Summary
When James T. Kirk moves from Riverside, Iowa, to Athens, Georgia, he's pretty unhappy about it. What's with this trend of moving to where your siblings to to college, anyway? As his freshman year at Starfleet High goes on, though, he finds a friend in his next-door neighbor, Leonard McCoy, and discovers that Georgia weather and Iowa weather are a hell of a lot different. This is a modern AU series in progress that will probably expand to be 25 parts or so, spanning up to ten years of their lives. I'll probably update about twice a week, Fridays and Mondays/Tuesdays if all goes well.

“So, let me get this straight,” says Combeferre after three rings. He sounds half asleep, and Enjolras winces. “Your crazy ex-convict of a father has decided that Cosette can only date people once you do?”
“Yes.”
There’s the sound of movement as Combeferre unplugs his phone and settles back against his pillows. “And you, somehow—stupidly, I might add—decided to make her happy by agreeing to date someone?”
“Yes.” There’s a very pregnant pause. Enjolras curls and uncurls his hands into fists.
“Right,” says Combeferre. “We’re having this conversation tomorrow.” And then he hangs up.
