Summary
Since the discovery of the Heart of the Lorkhan, the dwemer that study it are visited by haunting visions of lives forgotten, traces of pasts thought faded. Kagrenac, undeterred, races to finish her magnum opus regardless, belieiving their fragile alliance with the chimer will crumble and their work will be lost without their Numidium. Only one tonal architect – Bthemetz, "The Brass Architect", an ancient scholar-priest-slash-heretic reborn into an automaton-form, who has settled into life as a lauded scholar in the first era, ventures to question – should we even be doing this?
All of this would easier, of course, were Kagrenac not Bthemetz's wife.
