Summary
“It’s a dog.”
If possible, Remus’s mood sinks even lower. He closes his eyes and slouches down over his crossed arms on the table. Did the tea leaves really have to rub it in like this? “You mean a wolf,” he mumbles into his sleeve. A lone wolf. The message couldn’t be clearer than that.
A love themed Divination class on Valentine’s Day 1976 might have revealed more than Remus first thought.

Summary
Padfoot makes joy and happiness grow, and horrible memories fade. He doesn’t feel stress the same way or for the same things. He loves easily, without the crippling doubt and second-guessing of a human taught he isn’t good enough. The yearning is simpler; he knows the wolf’s both forms are special to him, in a different way than the stag and the rat are, and is happy just to be close to him. And sure, sometimes the fear is too strong, but when told he matters, when hugged and petted and held in the warmth of a loving embrace, he believes it.
There are no hugs or pets today. No words of comfort, or soft smiles. Only pale, bloodstained skin and the barely noticeable rise and fall of the chest beneath his head.
Remus is badly hurt after the full moon. A worried Sirius refuses to leave his side.

Summary
Now there’s a wary Padfoot as well. He stops close by but not too near, head and tail lowered, eyes asking but filled with such uncertainty. Like a remorseful puppy who knows he’s been bad, but isn’t quite certain how. As if Sirius’s carefully guarded anxiety and fears have finally dug so deep even the usually so carefree dog can no longer shake them off.
Sirius turns into Padfoot when in need of comfort. Remus wants to be there for him.

Summary
Sirius’s head races with thoughts, one wilder than the last trying to make sense of what is happening. He must have fallen asleep – but that idea even crossing his mind suggests he actually is wide awake. Shrunk to the size of a doll, standing before a Nutcracker-turned-boy. Mind full of questions, but unable to voice any of them.
For a long moment the other boy doesn’t seem to know what to say either. He watches Sirius with a mesmerised expression, eyes flickering back and forth over Sirius’s features. As if it was Sirius who just magically came alive, wood giving way to that adorable face. Then it comes, a low, soft, “oh”. It pierces Sirius’s chest, etches into his core. Oh.
A cursed boy, a mouse king turned grey-backed rat, and a good-hearted hero finding a thing deemed broken and undesirable, and seeing someone lovely instead.

Summary
Remus is fine with his life. He lives alone in the cottage on the hill, caring for his garden and brewing tea and reading books. His comfortable routine is disrupted, however, when he stumbles across an injured man lying in the snow and decides to save his life. He's probably the man's last hope - but this might be one wound even Remus cannot heal.

Summary
There's something blazingly incongruous about Remus in the wintertime. He's golden: sunshine and honeybees, caramel curls and freckles like dappled sunlight. Even his clothes seem borrowed, and temporary, as if he might've just thrown on an extra layer for a moment in the knowledge that his own innate aestival nature would be quite enough to stave off the worst of the chill. Something at home in long balmy nights, and mornings when the gardens teem with life and song. Wonderfully out of place in the winter: a happy visitor to the season, an ember in the frost.
Christmastime in the Cotswolds: cold hands, crackling fires, and Remus's indefatigable quest for parsnips.

Summary
“So what’s he like? Full of it? Arrogant?”
“Yes,” he says, because he thinks that is a fair assessment. Sirius Black is full of it. He is arrogant. He’s also entitled and needy and smug. He’s talented, reckless, moody, selfish, childish, charming and sweet, and a million different other things Remus is trying to wrap his head around.
Sirius Black is hard work.
Remus Lupin is a successful documentary filmmaker who is assigned to make a fly-on-the-wall documentary featuring Sirius Black - one of the world's most brilliant footballers - as he competes in the European Championship.
All does not go smoothly.
--
Fair warning: Remus knows nothing about football and neither do I. Also, this is about football in the global sense. I can't call it soccer. I just can't.
This will not be hugely explicit, but it will be mature. I am an adult. If you are not, or you feel uncomfortable with adult themes, please steer clear.
I read and love all comments but seem to struggle to reply to them in an acceptable timeframe. Sorry about that.

Summary
“How could you possibly know what I was going to say?” Sirius blusters, lifting his head from the bed to look at James incredulously.
James returns his stare, deadpan, and finally lowers the magazine.
“You were going to go off on a tangent again about how hot Remus looked today and how badly you want to kiss him, shag him, shack up with him and adopt many children—in that exact order.”
“Was not!” Sirius squawks, but his voice – the traitor - betrays him and comes out too high-pitched to continue to feign he wasn't about to say... well, exactly that.
--
