Vi turns once more, as Caitlyn’s admission cuts like a blade across her chest. She stares. The cell door opens with a creak.
“What?”
The woman before her has eyes like the sky, crisp and clean in a way she used to think she’d never see again, trapped forty stories down in the dark. “I fear we don’t have much time. Jayce believes war is coming. I’ve given us a bit of a grace period, but I…” she closes those eyes for a moment, steeling herself against what Vi can only hope is the weight of her conscience. Lonely months stretch between them like hands, grasping and grasping.
“Vi,” Caitlyn says. “We need to talk.”

Aziraphale, a club veteran, and Crowley, a club newbie, keep running into each other in different areas, or grottos, of the club and delighting in how sexually (and perhaps romantically?) compatible they are. A story about the following, in no particular order: boxing up old memories, unpacking even older ones, lots and lots of red wine, Muriel trying on sunglasses they're not supposed to, neatly looping cursive, Crowley getting his groove back, and an angel and a demon who are figuring love out.

Summary

They will do anything for each other, even cross the stars a thousand times over. Even die. This is how their story began, and how they handle the life they have been dealt. Chasing after each other and defending the universe from the forces of evil isn't easy, but they'll be fine as long as they have each other to depend on.
