I’ve been making a V3 Remnants of Despair AU over on my Tumblr (Spittyfishy) and thought it would be fun to expand on it with a fic!
Each chapter will focus on a different hand full of characters and how they fell to despair pre tragedy while attending Hopes Peak!

Having to constantly keep your emotions in check in the city plagued by akumas (and Chloé) can be tough. Especially if you’ve been akumatized before and everything around you reminds you of it.
Or
It’s Valentine’s Day again and Kim is not having a good time.
It’s pretty Kim centric (because Dark Cupid is one of my favourite akumas) but the pov shifts to other characters as well.

So basically the idea for this is, “What if after you were akumatized you kept something from your akumatization? What would you do with that power?" So the akuma victims retain any major traits from their akumatizations. The problem? How the heck are they supposed to explain that to superheroes without starting a mass panic?
Also, how on Earth are they supposed to get back to normal?? -

Summary
A hive mind has taken over class 1-A.
In the process of revealing themselves to the world, they claimed UA as their stage and chaos ensued. By the time the heroes arrived to resolve the issue, few sane students remained. UA was naturally closed down and its remaining students scattered, laden with stigma and trauma. As the only remaining student of 1-A, Bakugo Katsuki carries this stigma particularly heavily.
Three years have passed since the tragedy, and the 1-A students and their fellow infected have been recognized as a national, if not global, threat. As such they have been detained and restrained off of the mainland. But they are far from quiet, and a war is brewing in the streets of the country's underbelly.
Bakugo meanwhile has been caught in the middle of the mounting conflict. While he has dedicated every waking hour since the tragedy to hunting down the infected, his classmates have left him with a rather persistent gift and he finds himself wavering more and more.(I'm really bad at summaries, sorry. This is like the 'for dummies' version and it looks really bland. I haven't seen any other fics with this premise so I thought I'd give it a shot.)

They are disquieted to find that this Romulan machine is, under the surface, a bit more human than it is Romulan…and deep under the surface, perhaps more alive than a machine has right to be.
