Summary
Previous generations of the turtles have slowly but steadily been gathering themselves into one big Discord server, now having a total of twenty members. Some of them have retired from the vigilantism, others are still doing regular patrols. They've all pretty much figured out their way of life after their various misadventures and trauma.
And then the kids join. Four hyperactive teenagers give twenty veteran mutants grey scales like none of their bad guys ever could have.

Summary
At one point in time, there were six of them.
Childish faces beaming and sweating in summer sun, clothes coated in dust from the street and knees discolored with grass stains. Innocence dwells in the joys of childhood and fades away as adulthood draws nearer.
Though sometimes, that isn't the case.
Stolen away from all six of them by one single bullet hole, grim reality engulfs them and they are forced to cope with it. Right as they think things will be okay, another brother is ripped away from them again, history repeating itself and the seams popping open on the wound that they all share. Eventually, the remaining three flee to someplace to guarantee their safety and turn to religion. It worked for years.
Luckily, at that point, they were already used to dealing with the unexpected.

One of the first fics I've read here and I remember it fondly
