Summary
X can lie. He can lie about a lot of things, even to himself. He tries not too based on morals, but he can. Not this though, this is way to big to sweep under the rug and ignore. Mega Man X, Blue Bomber of 21XX has a stupid massive crush and it won't go away. Now the only thing that could make it worse is if anyone found out. But that wouldn't happen right. Right?

“Tell B n’t to call my parents,” Tim mutters through the pain.
“What?” he hears Red Hood asking, sounding far away, even though his hand is still tight around Tim’s throat.
“M’ parents,” Tim repeats urgently. “Don’t disturb ‘em. Got a ‘mergency protocol.”
“For what? Dying?” Red Hood’s voice dips deep, almost getting lost amongst the rushing in Tim’s ears.
“Bad for business,” Tim tells him right as he finally, blessedly, blacks out.
- Only then Red Hood decides to not kill him but bring him to a hospital and sit at his bedside until he wakes up. Tim has always been an opportunist, and he thinks it is time to bring the real Robin home.

Summary
The war against Sigma ended. It didn't feel like a victory, and X was getting sick of everyone calling him a hero for turning into a monster. He had to become a hunter, a predator, in order to defeat the Maverick Leader. Now he wasn't sure how to turn back into himself without his best friend.
X2 Follow-Up for 'We Must Belong Somewhere', but not necessarily required reading for this. A lot will be similar to 'His' and a work that was deleted back in 2022, but like wmbs, it's being revived properly.
