It started innocently enough.
Shane had been at the pharmacy near his apartment, replenishing his medicine cabinet, when he saw it—a copy of that month’s Sports Illustrated with Rozanov’s picture on the cover. He was sitting, half-naked and sweaty, with one knee bent and the other crossed on the floor, an elbow resting on the knee and the other on the Stanley Cup. Steely blue eyes gazed across time and space straight into Shane’s soul, making his heart twist uncomfortably in his chest and hot flurries burn low in his stomach.
His dick twitched in his pants.
He grabbed the magazine before he could think about it.

Ilya almost dropped his cigarette. His English was shitty, but he had studied that sentence enough times over the years to understand it immediately. He didn't even think about his words much anymore, but it was impossible to avoid them.
He turned instinctively, and was face to face with Shane fucking Hollander.
Out of almost seven billion people, of course Ilya's soulmate had to be his fated rival. It was almost poetic. Still, Ilya had enough sense to realize just how bad this was.
