Summary
Now that they are teammates, Will has come to know two things about Mack. First, that he's quickly becoming the closest friend Will has ever had. And second, that he talks an ungodly amount of bullshit.
or, the one where Will overhears Mack making the audacious claim that he'd make "a fucking baller husband, bro" and he can't help but fixate. Hard.

Summary
A summer charity gala in Detroit throws Quinn Hughes and Joe Burrow into the same orbit, even though neither has any idea who the other is. One polite introduction turns into a night of unexpected ease, the kind that settles under the skin in a way neither of them can name. They tell themselves it's nothing more than a surprisingly good conversation. They tell themselves they will forget about it.
They don't.
Soon, there are texts at midnight, shared jokes, “accidental” meetups, and long silences that feel like confessions. They become the one person the other can breathe around without realizing how dangerous that is. They blame the off-season, then geography, then coincidence, but the gravity only grows stronger.
Both are leaders under pressure. Both live their lives on camera. Both are convinced the spark between them is harmless.
They're wrong.

Summary
Fate ties Mack and Will together with an impossible hit on the ice that leaves them branded with matching soulmarks and bound by a destiny neither asked for. They try to ignore it, bury it under competition and denial, but the connection only pulls tighter, leaving the pair in an unfortunate, delicate situation. On the ice, they’re enemies; off the ice, they’re unraveling. Destiny doesn’t care who wins.
OR
Two hockey idiots are soulmates and make denial an art form (somehow).
