He has seen others struggling for survival, those who fought tooth and nail while declaring that they stand thanks to their own strength of will. And one rather unexpected thing, just so happened to be what he saw before his eyes.
That being a Masked Fool laying on his bed, grinning at him with nothing but mischief in her eyes.
..Yet, he couldn't find it in him to ever truly reject the fool.

A self-indulgent Sparkday fic I made a while ago and was written pre-4.0 so do be aware of that. Mostly written bc I got back into my Sparkday hyper fixation after 3.7 (have been a fan of this crackship since its Penacony days) and I decided to throw my hat into the ring lol. Does also have some character analysis for Sunday but it's not that much.
Also, fair warning that the title might make it seem like it contains smut but there isn't any. Tho it is pretty intimate, it doesn't cross any lines into smut territory

But Welt, he seemed to live on half-truths, uttering sweet half a lies, hiding something lodged in his throat. She had seen the way his lips would gape a second or two, hesitating the words. She never asked, because if he was ready to speak, he would.
Waiting, however, feels like torment.
