"It'll be our last hurrah," Makki had said. Just the four of them, up in a cabin in the mountains, before they would have to tear away from each other for university. Before they would start to fade around the edges of each other's memories, existing solely in liminal spaces.
That's the thing about this "last hurrah," though. Once you take away the noise and blur of everything that used to surround someone, they become sharp, hyper focused. You start noticing every little thing about them. You start realizing things about them that you'd never have noticed before, hairline cracks in their masks of perfection, tiny hiccups in their personalities.
And sometimes you fall in love with them.

Summary
Looking at Viktor, it's almost absurd to think he would be self-conscious about his weight. But constantly being in the public eye, especially during adolescence, has done some damage to his body image. He must be in top shape at all times; if he gains even a little bit of body fat, someone will notice, someone will write something in a drugstore tabloid and someone will read it and everyone will know. He won't be perfect anymore.
Obviously, this is blowing it out of proportion. But when something's been drilled into your head as subtly and succinctly as this, it's hard to remove. It's hard to tell yourself that no one actually cares if you gain a pound or two when you've been obsessing about it for years on end.
It's hard to believe the facts when you don't trust the source.

Angry tears track their way down their face as they stiffly pull on a pair of Keiji's sweats and one of Kuro's ridiculously oversized hoodies, pausing to bury their face in Bo's pillow, just to be fair. They miss their boyfriends so much. So much. It's a physical pain now, crackling just behind their ribs, and they know they'll have to try and rid their face of tearstains, otherwise Suga will worry. Suga has already been kind enough to offer them company, and in any case, Kenma doesn't deserve to be worried over. It isn't like it matters anyway.
They freeze.
Oh no.
Of all the days for the intrusive thoughts, the grey-tones jabs, the deathly sharp self-hatred to invade their mind, it just has to be when Bo and Kuro and Keiji were all gone halfway across the country.
This is shaping up to be the worst birthday Kenma has ever had.

Lev let his eyes flutter open to meet Yaku’s gaze and he smiled as Yaku gently kissed his nose.
‘You okay?’ He asked softly, stroking a hand through Lev’s hair and Lev nodded, leaning up to kiss him.
‘I want to do this.’ He replied with a smile and Yaku rested his head in the crook of Lev’s neck.
‘I know. Me too.’ He said, turning his head a little to press a light kiss to Lev’s neck. ‘We can just take it slow, okay?’ He asked, glancing up at him as Lev traced his fingers over Yaku’s back over his shirt and he nodded.
