Jimin doesn’t know the truth of these theories, all he knows is the sea and the stars and his ship. He sails and scavenges and does not dwell on the hollow, empty parts of himself that search for something more. All that changes amidst the ruins of a fallen city one glittering afternoon, where Jimin follows a feeling and finds a mer with hauntingly familiar eyes, trapped in the tank of an old aquarium. They shouldn’t know each other—can’t know each other, and yet…
