Summary
Isaac pointed his fork at Colin accusatorily and very calmly stated, “I’m an idiot.”
Michael looked at Colin, who appeared to be just as confused as he felt. “You might not be an academic, but you’re not dumb, boyo.”
Isaac shook his head. “No, I’m stupid because I forgot you,” the fork stabbed forward ominously, “-have a boyfriend.”
OR: The truth comes out (and so does Colin).

Summary
On the first day back, AFC Richmond was a mess. Roy was cracking under the pressure of Ted Lasso’s absence. Isaac’s eyes were forced open to the strain left in his closest friendship and Colin worried about his first long-term relationship. Keeley- newly single- struggled to figure out what that could mean for her while Jamie… Jamie was just waiting for the other shoe to drop.
He wished he could say that being right- even with this real spooky shit- wasn’t at least a little satisfying. More than that though, it was a relief. He wasn’t crazy- No one was. They were being toyed with.

Colin flips the envelope between his fingers like it's a beer mat and he’s at some run down pub with his mates, and not a fancy office with a stranger staring him down.
Too many ghosts indeed.

Summary
Sam gives Isaac a look that’s almost reprimanding; it's as if he’s a kid again and Sam’s his dad, telling him off. “You and Colin look at each other like my parents do. With love. It is nothing to be ashamed of, my friend. Love is beautiful.”
Isaac needs to sit down.

Colin figures the fact that, in the end, he kind of volunteered for this should probably make it easier to watch it happening.

Summary
Mara Glass did not care about "weird hot guy," the supposed "campus cryptid." She had heard of him her first couple years and had him pointed out to her by a classmate once, but what was there to notice? Okay, he was probably thirty, a nontraditional student, so what? There were a number of those around. Apparently he was hot--well congrats to people who were into people, they could keep him. And if you asked Mara, from her extremely objective perspective, those Disney-green eyes were doing a lot of heavy lifting. There was nothing particularly noteworthy about a thirty-something guy who didn't talk about himself to twenty-year-old classmates. He probably had, like, a real life. There were rumors he was married, although Brittany noted that the only reason people thought that was because one time someone heard him finish a phone call with, "You light the candles, I'll bring dinner. I love you." None of that was remotely interesting to Mara. He sounded like a normal person, and she wished people would shut up about him.
Then in third year, she had a history class with weird hot guy.

Summary
There's a man standing in front of his table, a sheepish cant to his shoulders. His lovely, blonde-brown hair looks in need of a haircut since it's growing out somewhat unevenly, presently just long enough to hang partially in his eyes. His eyes are the most intriguing shade between clear blue and crisp green. He has a beauty mark near his mouth, a definitely Roman-looking nose, and enough scruff on his chin that Joe's not sure if he's trying to grow out his beard or just hasn't bothered to shave.
He's fucking gorgeous, is what Joe is trying to say.
(The past year hasn't been kind to Joe or Nicky. But a chance meeting at a local market sets them both on a path they weren't expecting. A path filled with love, magic and maybe, just maybe, some peace.)

Summary
Booker’s gaze is hollow, but he stares steadily back at Joe. “You have no idea,” he says again. “You said you would walk through fire for Nicky? I would have done that a thousand times for my children, before I ever knew that I would survive it.” He takes a step closer, and Joe instinctively readies himself at the look in his eyes.
“Imagine,” Booker says, his voice low. “Just for a moment, that Nicky is dying.”
Joe punches him right in the face.

Summary
Nicolò looks sheepish. "I killed you yesterday, and you awoke at the same time, the same place. But when I die, I wake at different times, different places. This bolt," he tosses it to Yusuf and it lands in the dirt by his knee, "it killed me yesterday, but I woke up many years from now. I lived several lifetimes in those places before returning here and pulling it from my neck."
Nicky's lives and deaths are different. He is unstuck from time - at every death he revives into a different point in his life. Each time he is struck down he wonders, will he awaken to deserts and swords? Will it be gunshots in cities? Joe and Nicky build a fractured life together, falling in love across two different sets of centuries, then patiently waiting for the other to fall in love too. He meets the rest of their little family out of order, but they still build a family around Nicky's involuntary time-traveling.

Summary
“I think I am a mistake,” Nicolò confesses.
“I thought God didn’t make mistakes.”
“You tell me.”
Andromache nudges his shoulder. “I do not think you are a mistake.”
“If there is to be a man to walk the world for thousands of suns, let it be a man like Yusuf,” Nicolò says. “A man who understands the weight of the sword, who trades in kindness, loyalty and honor. A man who can find beauty in a simple sunrise.”
“And what of a man like you?” Andromache asks.
“There are already too many men like me in this world,” Nicolò answers. “And we can cause more than enough damage within a mortal lifespan.”
Andromache is silent next to him. Somehow, Nicolò knows she understands. For as old as she is, she has likely seen far too many men like him already.
They stand in silence for a few minutes before she asks, “Do you love him?”
Nicolò ponders for a moment. “I do not think love is enough.”
Nicolò di Genova has lived a long life. He has much to show for it, but somehow still nothing at all.
This is Nicky's companion piece to 'Beautiful Ghosts'. 'Beautiful Ghosts' should be read first (but likely not imperative).

Summary
For a brief but axis-tilting second, he wasn’t in his backyard anymore. He was in Ninian Park. And that wasn’t his nan humming in the kitchen or his ma calling everyone to supper. That was the roaring crowd, on their feet, cheering his goal.
And he vowed then and there, this is what I’m gonna do for the rest of my life.
