He hated, mostly, the freedom Vance got. He could do anything and everything–with no consequences–because that’s what everyone was expecting of him. He could ignore or speak his opinion on anyone he wanted too. He didn’t have to do his school work or stress over his grades, because he didn’t care.
Bruce couldn’t afford those luxuries. He did everything he was told. He turned in all his work on time, helped his teachers and classmates. He grinned and nodded and chatted with anyone who came up to him. Whether they were annoying or not, because he had too. He was the golden boy and baseball star of North Denver.
There were other reasons, too, but he didn't talk about those..

‘Yeah, so what?’ Eddie asked while continuing to sip at his soda and snicker to the person on his left.
‘You only have your left eyebrow, tongue, septum, snake bites and ears pierced. What do you mean ten?’ He pointed to each of said metal accessories decorating his head area.
All of a sudden, Eddie’s face went pink and he looked away, ‘Yeah I meant seven, sorry. I thought ten would be a cool number for the future but right now I only have seven.’”
