"Just be patient, Jeonghan," Seungcheol mumbled from the other side of the line; it was late, barely midnight but for a teacher, who had to be up early in the morning, Jeonghan knew it wasn't the best time for him to be calling. Still, the other man had assured him it was okay, making his heart skip a beat for some reason. "You're doing a good job, okay? Yesterday, he told me you cut his carrots into dinosaurs? How long did that take?"
"Not that long," he muttered under his breath, blinking away his tears as he listened to Seungcheol tell him how excited Chan was to see the dinosaurs swim on his soup, absentmindedly running his thumb over his bandaged fingers; honestly, working with tin cans and sheet metals was torture, especially to him that hadn't crafted anything for a long time, but he would do it, he nodded to himself, again and again, if it would make his nephew happy. "Thank you for telling me he likes dinosaurs."
Bearing the responsibility of raising a child after his sister died, Jeonghan started questioning his ability to take care & connect with his nephew when the eight-year-old called his teacher, dad. And him? After four years? Still Uncle Han.

Seungkwan's mouth twists into a knowing smile that Jihoon feels like he should be scared of.
“Kim Mingyu, 23 years old, best player in his university’s tennis team and currently lying in surgery with multiple shattered bones in his arm and a couple of fractured ribs. Snowboard accident.”
“I- I didn’t ask…?” Jihoon blinks up at him.
“Oh, come on, I know you wanted to. It was written all over your face the entire time – it was kind of embarrassing actually. Be glad he was too busy freaking out to notice you ogling him.” Seungkwan grins, and Jihoon knew that he should’ve been scared, that smile earlier was practically screaming scheming face.
“I wasn’t-” Jihoon splutters, feeling his face grow warm. “Oh my god, Seungkwan, please don’t ever say ogling again, I’m gonna throw up."
Jihoon wakes up from a coma in the hospital - alone, scared, and feeling like his future collapsed on him when he crashed his car that night. As he tries to desperately cling onto his old self, fearing that this, too, is slipping away from him, Mingyu gets wheeled into his room - loud, kind, and maybe, equally as hurt.

This is one of those works that just makes me go WOW.
Jigyu going through so many hardships and still finding a way to be there for each other is so endearing. And there's so much angst but in a good way (in a life-changing accident and dealing with its repercussions sort of way). And Jihoon will be the coolest producer in any universe imo.

“No!” he exclaimed, the smell of whiskey and cotton momentarily clouding his mind, the words he wanted to say dying on his tongue when he felt a large hand resting on his hip.
“Laugh,” Wonwoo ordered, ducking down. “Pretend like I said the funniest joke in the world, sweetheart.”
“Sweetheart?” He hissed, the nickname pulling him out of his reverie. With a frown, he hit Wonwoo on the chest; lava, hot and heavy, seemed to have replaced the blood coursing through his veins, his whole body in flames as the other man reached out to catch his balled fist, holding it hostage with his free hand. “I have a reputation-”
“Wow, has anyone told you that you have grabbable hips?” Wonwoo mumbled, and Jihoon could only gasp when the other man squeezed his hip like he was proving a point.

I'm here upon a reread because I forgot how much I enjoyed Jihoon thinking Wonwoo was an escort. Also there's something to be said about the faith that he had on Soonyoung and how much Soonyoung knows him to believe he'd get exactly the right guy 🤍

“I scored an invite to Mingyu and Minghao’s wedding. We could do this again, and this could be our thing.”“Our thing?” He echoed, fingers twitching as he allowed his hands to slide up Wonwoo’s chest, delighted to feel the other man’s heart beating as wildly as his own did.
“Dating each other,” Wonwoo replied, an easy smile brightening his handsome face. “It’s either that or you pay me for my services tonight. You already assumed I was an escort anyway. I only take cash-”
Jihoon stood on his tiptoes to shut Wonwoo up, wounding his arms around his date’s neck as he savored the taste of wine and sweet gaiety on the other man’s tongue.
“Or kisses. I take kisses, too.”

Summary
Mingyu wasn't just trapped in a cabin with a stranger. He was trapped in a cabin with a devastatingly attractive stranger with a cute laugh and soft voice and gentle hands, a stranger that had saved Mingyu's life and was asking nothing in return, and Mingyu realized, in that moment, that his heart was going to put him in terrible, terrible trouble for this.
Jeonghan had advised that Mingyu do what he could to get off the grid a little, in an attempt to dodge a groundless dating scandal. Mingyu hadn't meant to crash a skimobile into a tree, cause an avalanche, and get himself and his rescuer trapped out in the woods, but it could be worse: his savior seemed kind, he was safe, and the snow was beautiful. And besides, Jeonghan couldn't get too mad at him; Mingyu couldn't exactly be more off the grid than this.
