Summary
He feels Keith’s breath hitch and sees the moment both Hunk’s and Pidge’s hands curl into fists. The three of them take a step forward, hands finding one another as they draw Allura back for a moment.
No. Of course, it’s all of them or none of them at all. Shiro, shakes as he steps forward too, but something appears to stop him. An invisible force field that draws him back. The outline is familiar as he turns quickly and sees Atlas hovering behind him. The ships eyes shine and convey to him that he is not allowed to go.
He spins on his heel and turns back to the rest of the Paladins. Mouth open in shock as he tries to process what it means.

Summary
The back of his head says he already knows the answer. He lost his chance and should have made a stance years ago then maybe things could have been different. He buries his face into Keith’s arm. The bandages are gone and he’s met with the other’s smooth skin. He drinks up the contact. He hasn’t been this close to Keith since his Garrison days. When they both were friends and Keith was warming up to him.
“You make things too difficult, but you’re...you’ve taken up my thoughts and I hate it.” He laughs. “God Keith, I hate you so much.” A lie.

Summary
Shiro is gone. He’s safe. Keith and Matt manage to get him in that ship and away from here.
"Hell on Earth", Keith would have said but they're in space. They take a sharp turn, trying to get out of sight. He’s running out of breath, but he doesn’t stop. Quickly a few more steps and the two of them dash into a room, sealing the door behind them.
Thudding foot steps barrel right past the door. A growl from the beast, and Keith thinks they’re safe as the sounds fade away further down the hall. Matt is leaning against the wall, arm prop up on a desk. He’s trying to catch his breath, hair sticking to his neck and forehead due to his sweat. Keith is sure he’s in a similar state, trying to catch gasps of air into his lungs.
“You were suppose to go with him Matt.”
“And leave you here by yourself? Pass. You’d get yourself killed.”
(I”m honestly surprised I haven’t seen any Aliens: Isolation!Au for Voltron so I wrote one myself.)

His normal hand twitches at the thought and not long after he's carding through the unconscious male's hair.

“Yes, the Red Paladin has been taken care of.” His eyes still on the other.
Good. Return him to us. He will be useful.
Us. Shiro bites his tongue. He doesn’t like the sound of that, but no matter. The hand in the other’s hair stops, gripping and tugging the Paladin’s head up.

Do you still have a crush on him?
If you asked James a year ago, he would have said no. That he’s over it. Keith is gone in space and he won’t be here by the time he gets back. Now he’s not so sure. What he thought had healed hasn’t at all. Only a pale reminder that he never got over him in the first place. Keith anchored himself into his life and never left even after his betrayal.
James covers his face with his hand, letting out a groan and nods.

"Sonic bit his lip, tapping his fingers against Tail’s kitchen counter, agitated, staring at hisphone. Tails had left him alone at home, busy tinkering on some kind of project that was a little too complex for Sonic to understand or help. And being left alone with his own unoccupied mind was probably a bad idea. His dangerous, full-of-bad-ideas mind, because he had been frozen, looking right at Shadow’s contact for a good 10 minutes, itching to send him a message.
This is not good. He thought. It has been months since the last time, and he probably doesn’t even want it anymore.

Sometimes, for Sonic, it feels good to lose control. Shadow might be the one capable of doing it for him. Well, at least if no feelings are involved, of course.
