  This might be concerning about Kokichi’s questionable gift that he gave to the detective, so when Shuichi’s lingering continues on, it is Kokichi who excused himself and went to him.

  "Saihara-chan, do you have something to say to my face? Because if so, I won't bite unless you ask me to, so really, you can just spit it ou–"

  "H-Happy birthday, Kokichi!"

  Consequently, it is also Kokichi at the end who spits out the hot chocolate he's been drinking. "Hah." He deadpans. But isn't it Shuichi's birthday right now?

  no one ever knew the day of kokichi ouma's birth. not even the headmaster of hope's peak, not even DICE themselves, nor anyone.

  and no one has ever seemed to guess the date right either.

  Day 4: Pregame / Postgame

  It’s almost familiar, like a scene coming out of a romantic movie: Where the two main characters who are supposed to be love interests accidentally touch hands, look at each other, and then out of nowhere love at first sight miraculously happens.

  At least that's how it supposedly goes. Until Shuichi broke the flowery atmosphere by staring daggers and opening his mouth because as an avid fan like himself, ain't no way in hell will he let the other person have the only Danganronpa cereal left.

  OR: shuichi and a purple-haired stranger wearing a gakuran fight over the last danganronpa cereal on the cereal aisle.

  Summary

  The instance when Kokichi gets fond of something or someone, whether it be fictional or not, Shuichi observed Ouma-kun to be just going on and on about what makes them his favorite. Basically he would just not shut up about it. It's really obvious, not that Shuichi's bragging. He just knew some of Ouma's antics as his boyfriend at this point. Well, mostly. Shuichi's still in the process of finding new things about him sometimes.

  He knew this is supposed to be one of those instances.

  But to his surprise, Ouma didn't continue.

  And Shuichi couldn't believe it.

  "That's it?! He's a detective?!"

  kokichi ouma became obsessed with that character from genshin impact named shikanoin heizou who is a detective.

  OR: saihara's bf just has a thing for detective characters which ended up with saihara being lowkey(?¿?) pouty and jealous about it (+ it didn't help that saihara is so touch-starved either)

  A repressed awkward cough slipped out of his mouth, and then Kokichi couldn't take it anymore. It was then followed by small quiet croaks until it turned into a string of continuing coughs and it didn't stop until he started wheezing. He only managed to stop his coughing fit by the time he ran out of breath.

  When he finishes, there's a momentarily awkward pause on the other side of the call. Kokichi coughed in his hand once more, now voluntarily, to break the ever-growing silence.

  "That was just, uh… an audio of a cough that I accidentally played."

  to kokichi, living alone in his own place is so much fun and all,

  (especially since he can invite over and show off his own place to his beloved shuichi as much as he wants to…)

  until you get sick, that is.
