One good look at her and Ed can tell she's underage. Like, definitely underage, probably-not-even-twenty underage, and seemingly alone. Ed’s dealt with his fair share of college idiots sneaking into Blackbeard’s before, but they usually have the decency to travel in groups, making for a series of snapped fakes and a swift kick of their asses out the door and zero paperwork for him to do. But tonight this girl is drunk and alone, and he’s either going to have to call the police or somehow get a friend of hers to come pick her up, and he’s really not keen on dealing with any scenario that gets him in bed past sunrise.

Summary
Stede gets a book about pirates from his brother-in-law. Inside, he finds a curious name—his name, Stede Bonnet. It's barely a mention, two measly paragraphs in a longer story about the legendary Blackbeard, with whom he apparently sailed for a time. That night, he dreams about Ed. He learns he already knows more than he'll find in any book.
And Ed? Ed dreams too. He dreams about drowning, mostly.
Until he sees Stede.
The title comes from my best girl Margaret Lanterman, AKA The Log Lady, in one of her iconic Twin Peaks episode intros: "The beautiful thing about treasure is that it exists. It exists to be found."

Summary
Ed should have everything he's ever wanted. He's finally trying to make it out of his life as legendary organized crime boss Blackbeard, but learning who Ed is after decades of being Blackbeard is harder than he'd expected. Meanwhile, Stede should be happy, but after coming out he's felt stuck in a rut, waiting for life to catch up with his dreams. When people from Ed's old life start to catch up with him and Stede accidentally gets involved, they discover that maybe they can help each other find the missing pieces they've been looking for.
A fast-burn where Ed and Stede get married right after they meet, it takes a bit longer for them to realize they've fallen in love, and they learn a lot about themselves along the way.
