“You’re always messing with it.” Enjin falters, having lost all his bravado. It almost feels like a confession.
With the way Tamsy’s looking at him, it might as well have been.
Tamsy’s gaze becomes lidded and his head tilts slightly. He thinks for a moment, twirling the end of a strand of his hair before he responds.
Enjin’s fingers ache from where the flame of the cigarette starts to burn the filter.
“Does it distract you?”
