    Bumped to the lowest step on the social ladder after his fight with Billy, Steve gets roped in with the cheer team. What starts as a favor to help them out when one member breaks her leg in turn for protection from the brunt of the bullying, sets the universe on a different path.

    He befriends Chrissy and grows as thick as thieves with her. Over the summer he adds Robin to his friends as well. Meanwhile Eddie seems to have taken an interest in the fallen king, but Steve can’t figure out quite yet why Eddie is talking with him. Flirting with him?

     

    AKA a rewrite from after season 2 till after season 4 where Chrissy survives and Steve and Eddie get together that explores Steve's fall to the bottom of the social ladder and the what if he was gay and knew.

    Steve and Eddie get very close after the world almost ends. Eddie makes a move and it quickly backfires when Steve pulls away. Eddie, not knowing how to deal with the rejection, runs. They live completely separate lives for years until Steve realizes maybe he's not living the life he actually wants, and throws himself back into Eddie's world.

    “Um,” Eddie manages. His brain is entirely off line, buzzing with frantic static and he begs his mouth to say something, anything, before Steve rescinds the offer.
