Summary
“Your dad wants to talk to you,” Hawkeye says, the receiver in his hand outstretched.
“Do I have to?”
Erin’s voice lies just on the edge of a whine. It reminds Hawkeye of the last time they met, when Peg had to wheedle her to wash up before lunch so she wouldn’t track mud in the house. He wants to say yes. He thinks he should say yes. BJ would kill him if he knew he didn’t say yes.
“I can’t make you do anything,” he settles on.ᚒ
In 1966, 14-year-old Erin Hunnicutt runs away. The only place she can think to go is to her semi-estranged, semi-uncle Hawkeye. She wishes she’d packed warmer.Bookmarked by lavenderseas

Summary
Hawkeye turned in his arms, setting his chin on his hands, his palms flat over BJ’s sternum.
Their eyes met. BJ’s breath caught, his chest warming—God, was Hawkeye lovely. BJ told him so.
“With this nose?” Hawkeye asked, crossing his eyes.///
The war ends. Life doesn’t.

“Alright, Hawk, you got me. I’m here to seduce you,” BJ says, very earnestly. Hawkeye blinks at him. BJ blinks back.
“Well, BJ, I have to say, you’ve been doing admirably well,” Hawkeye says with as much aplomb as he can muster. “However, I also have to say that I think you’re having a nervous breakdown, and that’s kind of a turn-off for me.”

Summary
“Come on, Beej,” Hawkeye wheedles, already resetting the chessboard. “One more round. It’s no fair to win big and split.”
It’s late, and they’re both due in surgery in the morning. Earlier if Hawkeye’s bad luck holds out. Frank’s busy pretending to be a doctor in Post Op and most of the camp is asleep, which would be a fine idea if the thought of joining them didn’t turn Hawkeye’s palms into Niagara Falls.
