It is not the first time and certainly won’t be the last that those three words slipped almost accidentally past his lips.
They are supposed to be celebrating the victory along with the rest, but there they are: away from the focus of the party, sitting on two chairs; the metallic sounds from Herlock’s gadgets are the only thing that talks between them. Kazuma is not even doing something to catch his attention: crossed arms, a lost look in his eyes and his mind far gone to another place that isn’t 221B of Baker Street. On the other side of the room, Iris seems to be talking about her latest story, her voice the only thing that resonates above the music playing on the gramaphone. And even then, Ryunosuke just can’t stop looking at him.
