Summary
The problem is— as it turns out— Maki is a really normal guy. He’s polite, and clean, and he takes all of Harua’s suggestions in stride. When he comes home late, he’s quiet enough that Harua doesn’t even hear him. He’s kind, and devastatingly sexy, and he’s shirtless more often than not when they’re home. He’s a good roommate.
Harua wants to destroy him. He can’t live like this. He’s a principled man, and principled men don’t fall for men that rejected them already. That’s humiliating.

Summary
Harua had always known that Hirota Riki was not boyfriend material. You would think that his next-door neighbor would be a prime candidate for his romantic fantasies, but Maki has only proven himself to be a pain in the butt, ever since they were little. Maki was the kid who put worms down Harua’s shirt, the monster who hid a lawn gnome’s severed head in Harua’s tricycle basket.
Flash forward 10 years from the Great Gnome Decapitation. It’s Harua’s senior year, a time meant to be rife with milestones perfect for any big screen, and he needs Maki’s help. See, Harua’s forever crush, Nicholas, has just moved back into town, and — horribly, annoyingly — he’s hitting it off with Maki. Meaning that if Harua wants Nicholas to notice him, he needs Maki. Maki is his in.
But as Harua and Maki scheme to get Harua his perfect boyfriend, he’s shocked to find he actually likes being around Maki. And, as they continue to grow closer, he must re-examine everything he thought he knew about love — and rethink his own perception of what Happily Ever After should really look like.

Summary
Nicholas rolls his eyes, the corner of his mouth pulling upwards into—and Euijoo hates to say it, because it sounds like a fucking cliche, and he is so not that kind of boy—but it’s a smirk. Wang Nicholas is smirking at Byun Euijoo. “All of my friends know each other,” he says, slowly, leaning forward. “And their friends know each other too, ad infinitum. So I need someone outside of that group, since they’d all know immediately that I was lying if I showed up with someone they knew. You get me?”
“You need me because I’m boring,” Euijoo summarises. “And because nobody knows me.”
“Something like that,” says Nicholas, and he looks way too casual for someone who’s asking another boy to fake date him.
or: Nicholas is really hot, really rich, and really far out of Euijoo’s league. So, what does he need Euijoo for?

Summary
When he returned inside, he rolled his shoulders slowly, wincing as stiff muscles protested. He massaged his feet, fingers digging into aching arches, then rubbed at the back of his neck, trying to ease the strain that had settled there from the long day. He sat down a few feet away from the boy, closer to the cave’s entrance, positioning himself as a guard.
“I hope your family is looking for you,” Harua said quietly into the dim light, voice low and tired. “I hope they find you soon.” He glanced back at the boy’s still form, chest tightening. “I’m… I’m at my limit now. So you better get better, okay?”
Exhaustion claimed him before he could say anything else. His body slumped, his thoughts unraveling, and he fell asleep without realizing it, the fire crackling softly between him and the boy.
OR: Harua is turned into a vampire. Then, he falls in love with the wolf he saved.
